Screen Used Back to the Future 1, 2 and 3 “B” Car

Welcome the newest member of our Back to the Future collection, which arrived on November 19, 2019! This is the "B" stunt car, used extensively in all three films. Well, this is what is LEFT of the B car, as it was the car that was destroyed by the train at the end of BTTF III. The body panels were sent to customizer Jay Ohrberg after filming. He built a square tube frame and tacked the damaged body panels to it along with a set of original screen used train wheels. The hood box (I have to put it back on the car) is also an original piece....the original one from OUR part III desert car as a matter of fact. It was used for promotional purposes and then sold to Planet Hollywood who hung it upside down from the ceiling of their restaurant in Hawaii. When the restaurant closed it went into storage....until now. We purchased it at auction and we are thrilled with it. It fits very nicely in the spot that is normally occupied by our part III car which is out in LA at the Hollywood Museum for the big BTTF exhibit opening on 12-6 and will be there for a year. We plan on mounting the car on train tracks and putting a big mural of a Ventura County Railway Alco S6 locomotive on the wall behind it :) We are very excited to add this to our collection. I was also excited to find "cave art" written on the panels. These were inscriptions that the factory workers in Dunmurry were famous for adding to the inside panels of the car. I found a workers name and a date, October 7th. Even more exciting to Back to the Future fans (and DeLorean fans) is that I can now officially let everyone know the previously unknown last four digits of the VIN number of the car, which is 4775. It is written on both door frames. This lines up nicely with the date as all cars in this VIN range were built in October of 1981 (coincidentally the same as the "A" car which is 5261 and our part III car which is 4689 FYI). More pics to come but here are a few for now!

Since this pic we have reinforced the square tube frame and she sits much nicer. No more jack stands! The rails just happened to be in our old barn which was a nice bonus.
